Its now February 13th, - When will it be summer and sunny and warm ,its still cold and wetter than ever. I think twice about braving the weather and patio going down to the studio, Although I always get down there eventually. I made some lovely heart dishes with roses and don't faint 'NO BUTTERFLIES' on them. It was just too much with some on them Ill up load them when they are finished. I also finished some commissions of door plates. I must finish my dragon ,I started it months ago with every thing that has happened in the ARTBOXuk Gallery and workshop there just hasn't been the time. I don't know if any one feels the same but I feel so weary and tired all the time. Is it because there is no sun? or is it too much work? who knows.
We have some specials on at the workshop for the next two months to cheer everyone up. come and see what cooking.......
bye for now

February is here !!!!!!!!!! cold , windy, and humm well a bit depressing - I see people walking passed the gallery with their heads hung low, rushing to get out of the horrid weather. They sometimes shelter in the doorway I don't blame them I would too.But the days ARE getting longer.
What they all should do is come and take advantage of our
February and March Madness offer !
£5-00 off a 2 hour workshop.
They can come in and from the cold and learn or improve a skill for 2014. We have such Talented artists here who are willing to share their knowledge. Arty Party time is Starting again 11years + at the Gallery workshop or under this age at your own venue- Kids love art and crafts - and its a learning experience they will remember.
The Quilting and painting on canvas workshops are starting to produce some finished work now - photos to follow soon.
We have daytime and evening workshops so their is something for everyone. come and visit us and have a chat if you are near us.
One Other thing that I would like to say or ask actually is about -'grants for the Arts'
or any other grant it seems. How is it, if you want a apply for a grant to improve or help a good project that is researched and started. you don't qualify! even if you have them say - yes its a great idea you would get funding. As soon as they ask when do you want it to start they say that they dont fund an existing project or one that has started. What logic is that! --- to fund something that has not been trialled and may not work and then to reject a good project which is trialled and there is a need for and the public want. We would love to give reductions on courses/workshop sessions to elderly, students those on benefits but as a new business we can't do that . -- Things need to change I think -- What do you think.

We will also have gift vouchers for the workshops too, so you can give a nice unusual present to someone you love. They will be able to redeem this in any craft workshop they choose and their will be lots.
I have a kiln heating up right now, so while I am waiting I'm writing this blog. Soon I will have another batch of goodies to sell, I also have been on the pottery wheel yesterday and thrown 12 dishes which are now ready to put coloured slip on and decorate by incising and painting.
Well that's the news, take a look at the WACO section on the website, I have uploaded some photos of the gallery/craft shop- hope you like it - I love it.

Hello everyone. The cold and wet has finally set in and its nice to hide away in the studio in the warm - especially when the kiln is on.I have had quite a busy time this month .I was successful in being chosen to exhibit in the Arcadia revisited exhibition @ Orleans Gallery at the end of October That was a lovely exhibition. But didn't get into the next one - 'still life' on now in the same place. Well Chin Up and soldier onwards -cannot win them all.
I hope I will be excepted for the Spirit of womanhood in OXO Tower London - deadline is soon - Hum still working on the painting for that-but the ceramics are ready and waiting. The there a wedding fair in Twickenham in January and hopefully a few at the butterfly farms in the spring.
The big Christmas fairs seem to Ive found, be booked up since the previous year dot. so I am going to do the same and book early for next year.- Too Late this Year.
I am hopefully going to have a shop to rent in Whitton to exhibit my work - a sort of a private exhibition . I am hopeful that it will be on the weekend of the Whitton Street light turning on but I'm still waiting to hear-----and its getting very close now . Ahh!
As for teaching posts that's -- well gone mad- the agency I'm with have lots of work in schools and 1.2.1.teaching and its all come at once -as soon as my DBS (the old CRB) came through I was out there BUT I must Learn to say NO . As I want to continue working in the studio too.
I am uploading my new latest range of work called "Frozen Vessels " I hope you like them please blog and tell me what you think of them.
All the best

Hello out there - well what have I been doing apart from applying for teaching posts. I have submitted work for 2 Exhibitions, and have been working in the studio on some new pieces using fabric . Some successes and humm! - some whoopsies -The fabric was too thin on some porcelain pieces and disintegrated during the firing. Those that have come out well, will - when they are glazed be lovely - providing they don't warp too much or collapse completely.
I am still teaching my Art students' privately and giving help and advice as well as practical help in developing their skills in drawing ,painting and design.
The workshops are doing well too I have 2 new students. lovely ...
But I still have spaces for 2 more, then I will be full on the Saturday sessions and if new comers want to join after this I will make an extra time slot and have 3 sessions on Saturdays. When the better weather comes in the spring I will offer an evening session too . Unless of course there are some of you out there who want to brave the winter dark evenings and join me - I am there anyway- listing to the radio singing along - its a good job no one can hear -my art is much better quality than my singing hahaha
well I am getting sleepy now , its 04.38 am and really should try to sleep I must write an artists statement tomorrow for the exhibition.photograph some pieces and get them to the gallery before the deadline.
Bye for now -- tell me what you artists out there are up too!!!
